The color I got was #8, Black Red Code, which really is a deep burgundy. Dark colors are typically more popular in the Fall but I'm a big fan of them year round. It's a beautiful dark red color for a bold lip look that could spruce up any plain jane laundry day outfit. The matte lipstick formula has a slight floral scent, which I believe is typical for YSL lip products. Most matte lip products feel dry once it settles in but this one still feels pretty moisturized compared to most matte lipsticks. The one thing I will say is the applicator is very different from your typical liquid lip product. I did have a bit of a struggle in the beginning but eventually you'll get the hang of using the angle. Given that it's a dark color, do not skip out on cleaning up the lines with a lip liner. If you're looking to splurge on a higher end product, I definitely recommend going for YSL as there you can clearly see the high end packaging + formula.
