Favorite Drug Store Foundation

I'll be honest- I'm not the biggest fan of drug store products and it's not because I'm too bougie because believe me, I'm a wise spender due to post-college student loans. I find most of the time, you really do get what you pay for in terms of quality so why not shell a little more money for a higher quality product. However, I'm not a complete debbie downer. There are some drug store products/brands out there that do meet the standards of a high quality product, i.e. Maybelline's concealer, Neutronea's Cleansing Wipes, and ELF's Makeup Remover Pen. (Click on product for a previous review.) I majored in marketing so I understand the nitty gritty of this but we forget that higher end brands fall under the same corporation. Take for instance, Urban Decay is actually owned by L'Oréal - fun fact of the day.

With that said, let's get into the review. I picked up L'Oréal's Infallible Pro-Matte 24 HR Foundation because so many bloggers were raving about how great it is. The shade I got was 105, which was a perfect match for my skin tone. It's about $10-13 depending on where you go, which is a steal given my go-to Hourglass foundation is $55. The quality of the L'Oréal foundation is very similar to the Hourglass matte foundation. It blurs out your imperfections and with Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, I find this foundation to last through my 9am-5pm work schedule. The foundation truly applies matte, which is a must for me since I have oily skin. If you guys are looking for a decently priced and high quality foundation, I'd definitely pick this bad boy up! I'm halfway through the tube so I'll be picking up some backups soon.

  1. Hmm...interesting to know that UD is owned by L'Oreal. I've seen youtubers raving about this foundation too. I tried True Match and I did not like it. Being mixed it's already hard to find a good color match.

  2. I am in desperate need for a matte foundation, but everything seems to be satin to dewy these days, no matter how it is advertised. That one will be my next pick from the drugstore.

  3. This foundation is the one I'm going to reach for when my current one runs out. I'm currently using the Rimmel Match Perfect and while I like it, it never hurts to try new things right? I have oily to normal skin so I hope this foundation will be the one! X

  4. Everyone is raving about the Loreal Infallible Matte Foudation, I think that I am the only one that haven't tried it yet!!
