Going on a Road Trip?
There are a few essentials I absolutely need in the front seat with me during the drive. First off, my Canon Rebel T1I. This is an old model because I believe the T6I is being released this year but it's still my trusty DSLR I've had since high school. It's yet to fail me and the picture quality is still amazing so I don't find the need to make a big investment in a new one. I document everything on camera while on the road so my camera has to be with me at all times. I remember the first time I saw a tumbleweed, I rushed to get my camera out haha. It doesn't seem like much but these are things I only saw on TV growing up so seeing it in real life was unusually amusing to me. I know it's weird but if you grew up in Hawaii, you'd understand.
Next, an aux cord is a must. Road trips without music are deadly. There was a time when I road tripped to LA and forgot an aux cord so our car relied on the radio, which was terrible because they tend to play the same song over and over. In addition, whenever we hit a new town, we had to find a new station and when we hit the middle of nowhere, there was even no radio station at all... *sighs. When we got to LA, our first stop was to pick up an aux cord. The blue cord we picked up has been my designated one for road trips to remind me how miserable it can get without music. Then, my favorite pair of shades, Ray Ban Aviators. I have to have these with me all the time. If you don't own one of these yet, go grab a pair! It's seriously my go-to.
Now onto beauty products. Mario Badescu's Rosewater Facial Spray is a staple because it's a great refresher for me and the driver. Similar to a plane, when you sit in a car for longer hours, your skin will feel dry and tired. That is why I like to have the rosewater facial spray as a pick-me-up. In addition, if the driver it getting tired as well, a few spritz of this will wake him/her right up! Similar to an airplane as well, I like to pop on a Nature Republic's Gel Mask an hour before getting to our destination. The mask will give you a great amount of moisture your tired skin needs and you'll feel/look much more alert. My last three items are typical things - L'Occitane Hand Cream to keep moisture in your hands, Bath and Body Work's Hand Sanitizer to clean before road trip snacks/meals, and my lipstick color of the day for touch-ups.
Are there any essentials you love that I don't bring? Also, if you have any tips on anything with road trips, I'd love to hear them since I'm still fairly new at the concept!
